I’m Chris Linteris (Christopher Linteris). I live in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the short version of my story is this: I’ve always wanted to understand how businesses work, and I’ve always loved music and cars. Most of my life has been some mix of those three things.
Starting early
I was the kid who asked a lot of questions and didn’t take no for an answer, and most of those questions were about how money and business actually work. I started working at 14 at Toys R Us, tried my hand at a few small businesses in high school, and went on to The College of New Jersey for a degree in finance because I wanted to see how it all fit together. I finished a semester early. For the longer career timeline, see My Story.
Learning business from the inside
The chapter that taught me the most was serving as chief financial officer of Wonder Food Group (Wonder Meats), a food manufacturer, from 2020 into 2025. I led finance, accounting, M&A and corporate strategy, and I helped grow the business from about $18 million to $350 million in revenue.
Being responsible for a growing company’s numbers changes how you see everything. You learn that growth is mostly about people, patience and a lot of unglamorous work done well, week after week.
Building something of my own
Alongside that chapter, I’ve been building for the long term at home. Through Chrono Capital, my family and I own and care for rental homes in West Palm Beach, and we manage them ourselves, from renovations to answering residents’ questions. We also host guests through West Palm BnBs, our vacation rental brand. The name Chrono comes from the Greek for "time," and it’s how I try to approach everything: patient ownership and steady care.
Why West Palm Beach
We moved to West Palm Beach in 2021, a decision we made, of all places, over a cup of coffee. (I wrote about that in Decided Over Coffee.) We gave ourselves an honest out: if we didn’t love it after a year, we’d go back. We never did. Palm Beach living suits us: slow weekend mornings, time by the water, and a community I’m glad to be part of through Leadership Palm Beach County’s Engage program. For places I point friends to around town, there’s also my West Palm Beach local guide.
Music
Music is one of my two great passions. I still play records start to finish, and I’m a certified Rega dealer. Rega’s approach, keeping things light, rigid and simple so nothing gets between you and the music, is how I think about hi-fi in general. I write about records and listening at home at christopherlinteris.com.
Cars
Cars are the other one. I bought my first car, a silver Toyota Celica with a five-speed manual, a few months before I even had my license, and taught myself to drive stick in the driveway. Since then I’ve owned everything from a Mercedes SLK to a Porsche Cayman S, and I’m telling the story of each one, with a short review and a soundtrack, in my car series.
What ties it together
Whether it’s a company’s finances, a rental home, a turntable or a sports car, I’m drawn to things that are built well and looked after properly. I like understanding how they work, and I like sharing what I’ve learned. If any of that sounds like your kind of conversation, LinkedIn is the best place to find me.
